Let It Snow!

My brother, sister-in-law, and I made a snowman on Christmas.

Sometimes people don't grow up. It's a good thing.

I have a crush on this guy!

So - the other day my boss showed me this at work, and I love it. I hope you find it as thrilling as I do.

Family Makes Me HaPpY

I know that it's sort of lame that I am just blogging pictures lately, but heck, with the life the way it is, I feel accomplished doing this much! As many of you know, I am planning on going to Taiwan right after Christmas to teach English for six months and between training, getting visas, work, finals, and guys, life has been crazy.

Here is some stuff that has happened with our family the month of November -

First off, I would like you to all see my Mom and her amazing hula abilities.

Mom, I only put these pictures up because I love you and want everybody to see your skills!

Emily must have gotten all of her abilities from my Mom. While my niece was here, she was able to hula for 20 minutes strait! I'm jealous!

My Mom is actually not so talented when it comes to the hula hoop. These pictures are deceiving. The hula wouldn't stay up for more then 2 seconds. But I did get some great pictures while it was up!

Here is a picture of me and Jeanne's little girls. I will miss my family when in Taiwan. From left to right is Emily, Me, Abby, and Brookelyn

This is Abby! She enjoys playing with Tanner the dog tricking him to be excited to eat his own Dog food when she comes to Grandma's house. Lucky Tanner!

My niece Brooklyn. What more can I say? Ha ha, she was being silly and fun the night we were taking pictures :)

Baby McKinley was blessed at Gary and Pam's house and she is a beautiful little baby. She has such a good set of hair, I love it! I'm happy she is a part of the family.

Come Fly With Me

My friend Mike and I went flying last week - It was amazing!

This is the cute little plane that we rode in

What this picture is showing is mike's great flying skills. He was making the tip of his wing go around the center of multiple crop circles. The angles were super steep, but I loved every moment of it! This technique is called "figure 8's"

Proof that I actually did it

Threads

I had a teacher from one of my education courses who recently emailed me about this poem, stating that it explains her life. I thought it was pretty profound so I thought I would share it.

The Way It Is

There’s a thread you follow. It goes among
things that change. But it doesn’t change.
People wonder about what you are pursuing.
You have to explain about the thread.
But it is hard for others to see.
While you hold it you can’t get lost.
Tragedies happen; people get hurt
or die; and you suffer and get old.
Nothing you do can stop time’s unfolding.
You don’t ever let go of the thread.
~ William Stafford ~

Life is life, tragedies happen, suffering occurs, but its the steadiness of our own convictions that define and dictate who we are. My hope is that our convictions and defining traits will allow us to be able to coexist in this universe nicely and respectfully with others.

On a side note, I took a typing test a couple of weeks ago and found out that I type 70 wpm with 95% accuracy. I credit all of these abilities to my job at Verio. How refreshing it is to say something nice about work...

Poetry

Tonight at my apartment we had a poetry reading (yes - we are cool). I thought I would share one of my favorite poems with you. This poem is titled "The Birds Do Thus" by Robert Frost (although an overly used poet, this poem is in fact, not overused so I thus maintain some sort of originality. I hope).

The Birds Do Thus

I slept all day,
The birds do thus
That sing a while
At eve for us.

To have you soon
I gave away-
Well satisfied
To give - a day.

Life's not so short
I care to keep
The unhappy days:
I choose to sleep.

Anyway, this is a pretty romantic poem to me on many levels... And this is where I leave you for the night. Have a great day and hugs and kisses to all of you reading my blog.

October was a pretty fun month. Here is some stuff that went on ...

This is a picture that I took of myself in a car one day on the way to FHE. I had fun playing with the colors and lighting :)

Halloween with the roommates. If you are wondering, I am a cowgirl... Anyway, we all look pretty awful in this picture, but I really like the colors so I put it on here anyway.

Me and my friend Kelsy at DDVM IV (in other words, his birthday party...)

Every fall, me and my friends from high school get together to eat fondue and hang out at Tiffany's. It's fun stuff! From left to right is Tiffany and her new baby Jayden, Jessica, me, and Stephi. We are missing Amy due to her being on a mission in Taiwan.

J-Me the Blogger

I decided that blogging was a way to allow me to show my creativity in a more productive form other then limiting myself to editing my status updates on facebook.

With my blog, I look forward to expressing things that I find interesting, beautiful, and uplifting because this is what I strive to find and the purpose in which I live day to day.

Here is a little Walt Whitman to start off:

Have you heard that it was good to gain the day?
I also say it is good to fall.... battles are lost in the same
spirit in which they are won.

Enjoy
